2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chunky peanut butter (I use low sugar peanut butter)
1 c. shortening
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. soda
Hershey’s kisses
Cream sugar, peanut butter and shortening, add eggs and mix well. Mix flour, salt, soda and powder together. Add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on greased sheets. Flatten with tines of fork. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen.
For Bars:
Halve the recipe. Press into a small (like 8 x 1o) pan, making sure the dough is in there in a uniform sort of way.
Bake as above. remove from the oven, score the bars and press a Hereley’s kiss into each spot.
